L'il Louie - Fender Tweed tone box

Based on a delightful gold boutique box, this little fella is a very simple chunk of Fender-like tone. Add a little 50's Fender Twin or Tweed Deluxe oomph into your chain. Second footswtich kicks in the Boost control which adds even more punch. Drive that amp!

If you want this lovely grit in a small box you can go for the mini single footswitch version linked at the bottom of the page.

All this fits into a 1590B size box, but you can go for a 1590BB if you want to fit a battery in there.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components (not footswitches), pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and will (1590BB) / will not (1590B) take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosure and vertical-mount pots. Please choose appropriate knobs.

Awesome tones!
"Spent a good 4 hours putting this together to find my dufus soldering had caused a problem, some great and fast help from fuzzdog later and it's all boxed up and when I plug in it sounds like keef, SRV and all the pushed tweed tones for days. Does what it says.
"A simple way to turn a blackface Princeton into a tweed Deluxe or tweed Princeton. Matches the Fender 6V6 citcuit and tone stack really well. Push it hard and it's in Neil Young territory, more restraint and it gives a geeat responsive blues/rock and roll tone." TW - 05 December 2016

Tonal Bliss
"This is my third build , nice and simple and sounds stunning. I have a couple of home made Ampmaker Amps one being the Double Six which is very clean. Putting the Lil Louie in front of it creates superb vintage Fender tones.
