Ruby / Noisy Cricket Mini Guitar Amp

Based on the magnificent work of RunOffGroove, the Ruby circuit can kick out some serious oomph depending on your choice of speaker. All from a little 9V battery or DC supply (can be supplied with 12V if you really want to push it).

Some clever jiggery-pokery over at Beavis Audio gave birth to a highly modded Ruby, dubbed the Noisy Cricket. This adds a tone control and a 'grit' switch to give it a little more break-up.

Will drive pretty much any speaker with different dynamics depending on size/impedence. A Marshall 4x12" goes from fairly loud clean to louder with decent break-up. A little 4" speaker went from crunchy to full-on screaming.

No enclosure option for this - half the fun is housing it. We've seen some crazy versions!

Kit includes: PCB, all components, hook-up wire, stereo jack socket, DC socket, battery snap. Output jack is optional. Noisy Cricket includes toggle switch. Does not include knobs.

OUCH
"Recently added a stripboard headphone circuit, which I highly recommend. Though be careful, because my ears got hammered into the centre of my brain. Maybe Lee could add this one day..? Ideal for polite but distorted busking!

Versitile
"I bought this to modify/power a voice box - from an OLD model made by BELL labs. It used to run between the amp output and speaker, so it had a massive resistor in it. Anyway, this thing works AMAZINGLY, especially because you have the gain/vol control so I can tune the voice box more than any commercial model you can buy. Good project and excellent amp!"
