Phase 90

Want phase? We got phase. 90 degrees of it.

We've kept it simple in this new version of the PCB. We like it that way.

The option to have a trimmer for adjustable feedback is still there - a nice set-and-forget feature. Other than that it's just a case of setting the bias voltage and off you go.

Matched FETs are optional, as we had lots of requests to supply the kit without them in the past. The PCB is designed for DSG pinout FETs, such as 2N5457, so you'll have to check yours if using something else. If the product options aren't showing any matched sets available, that's the case. They take time to sort. Whether you get them from us or not, you NEED FETS for this circuit to work.

The kit is supplied with a vertical-mount pot which has a round shaft, so you'll need set-screw fitting knob.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components (not footswitch), pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with partial kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Great introduction to orange-coloured phasers 5 product stars
"I built this because I wanted to try out a phaser. I wanted something I could repair if it ever broke, that I could run off a pedalboard supply and had true bypass with an LED. MXR doesn't produce anything that ticks all these boxes. The kit was a straightforward build and easy to get working and I am enjoying using it as my only standalone modulation pedal. One tip: if you end up using a 'standard' reverse logarithmic potentiometer with an '80C' taper, you might find the 'action' too bunched up at the high end of the dial. I solved this by sourcing a '90C' taper potentiometer and it works great. (I also considered using a 5 Meg linear pot with a 510K resistor soldered across terminals 2 and 3 - see R. G. Keen's 'Secret Life of Pots' to see why this might work - if I've got my sums right.)" Daniel Auger - 14 July 2022
PHASE 90 5 product stars
"This pedal is AWESOME, it was is a really nice build with a satisfying result. I've never owned a single knob phase pedal before, WHY..? I included the Internal Feedback trimmer MOD which I figured would give me a preset option of flexibility between both the 'Script' and 'Block Logo' versions. I'm thinking that if I built another then perhaps I would include an SPDT ON-ON to allow for external switching between the two versions. 100% Recommended.

Phase 90 5 product stars
"I am very happy with FuzzDog and can only tell good about them. So far I built a SuperFuzz, an SFT, a SHO, an EA, another Trem, a MadMule, a Sqwisher and a Phase 90. All of them work great and sound great. Of course some of them I can t compare with the original (which is of course one of the reasons I need a clone) but who cares about authenticity if the pedals sound great anyway. If one compares schematics they all look like the originals. BTW, snatching one of your BOMs helped me modding one of my originals - Thanks for that too! The Phase 90 i needed because mine was broken due to my first modding attempt. Luckily, with a bit of conception, I could even fit the PCB into the original enclosure. I guess this is again thanks to their great designs. And yes, it sounds like my P90, maybe better." Matt - 06 October 2018
Phase, phase, phase 5 product stars
"Can the mounting of a pedal be easier? Had various Phase 90 clones and an original sitting somewhere that we replaced by PedalParts clone. Great, great sounding phase with the possibility of introducing mods. As always, great instructions, great quality parts, fun to build and great sounding." NiLace - 18 February 2017
Brilliant phasor. 5 product stars
"Very nice vintage sounding phasor ,used 5ok for trim 2, I only had a 4.7v zener and had ticking problems when I finally got the 5.1v, all was working perfectly ." Peter - 19 September 2016
Great Kit 5 product stars
"My second pedal parts build , very happy with it . Another great design , the way it mounts in the enclosure using the 3dpt switch is genius . Straight forward build . Only issue caused by my fault by not reading the instructions properly . But soon solved via helpful friendly email. Lesson learnt ! Read the manual ! Twice if not 10 times. Great sound lovely warm swirling phase . Very impressed and happy customer" simsrstuff - 21 February 2015
