LPB Boost / Treble Boost / Shouting Bird

Everyone needs a little boost now and again, and this dinky circuit is just the job.

At the stomp of a switch you can add a little clean boost, add a lot of boost to crank your output into crazy overdrive (great with a Fuzz Face!), or even cut some signal for those quiet moments.

With a couple of component changes you can turn it into a Treble Boost for cutting through the mix for solos, or even the famous Shouting Bird Treble Boost which will make cats cover their ears at 100 paces.

Board-mounted pot for minimal wiring and easy mounting in the enclosure.

Kit is available with a standard sized 1590B enclosure with battery, or a mini 1590A (36 x 90mm) enclosure with DC power only, though be aware that you'll be wiring in a very confined space.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and can take a battery if desired with footswitch positioned 22mm higher, closer to the controls, in a 1590B. 1590A will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Easy and brilliant
"My first build from fuzzdog and couldn't be happier. Worked first time for the circuit board itself and any issues with the switch was my own doing. Good instructions and clear PCB layout making any problems easy to identify. Boost itself is very usable and a good addition to anyone's board. LPB is Necessary.

LPB Goodness
"As always with the kits in this page, quality components, clear instructions and great kits. I bought this one to replace my old LPB-2 which was occupying a lot of space in my pedalboard. Now I have the same sound I used to in a very little confined space, I couldn't be happier. Although the LPB is not the favorite go-to choice for most people when they're looking for a boost as it's not "clean" and adds grit and colour, it's a pedal I always use to crank either my amp or the rest of the dirt chain using it as a gain stage, couldn't be happier with my new small little boost. I will probably try to squeeze some new smaller jacks in the enclosure to see if I can fit a DPDT switch to select between the LPB and the Shouting Bird :)" NiLace - 31 July 2017

Great little boost pedal
"Bought this as my first pedal build and it worked out great. I had no experience of soldering or electronics but this is a great introduction to techniques required.
