Fixed My Volume Pedal

"I had been suffering for years under the oppressive regime of a tone-sucking Ernie Ball Volume pedal until a friend pointed out that the cure would be a buffer pedal. I bought the Klon Buffer in the hope of installing it inside the pedal thus reducing the need for extra cables. I'm never without the volume anyway, so I thought this would be a good idea. If I needed a buffer without the volume pedal I could just build another one. Not exactly being a Doctor of Electrical Engineering, I finished the simple circuit in no time and still managed to wire it up with the 9v adapter plug in a spare hole in the front of the pedal. This buffer saved me. It rescued me from the clutches of bad impedance and reduced treble and set me free to live a life of pure, unadulterated, living tone. Wait, buffering?

"I wonder why nobody told me about this before. Yes, I was aware that with so much cable and pedals my signal may suffer a little bit of treble loss but I couldn't imagine the difference would be so noticeable. There is really no reason no to build one of these. It's easy as it can be, the instructions are clear, fits in a very small enclosure and the difference is more than noticeable. I actually use two of these. One on the very first position of the signal chain that goes to the input and one of the very first position of the signal chain that goes to the loop return. Superb sound improvement

"Just fitted one if these into the input of a by pass strip I've been building and I fitted a small toggle switch before it in case I ever needed to turn it off. I needn't have bothered!!!! This will never be turned off! The difference in sound quality is huge. Everything is as described. Essential piece of gear!

"Every word about in the description of this kit is true! I Put it in a looper and A/Bd it to hear the difference. You get alot more high-end form the pickups that would be lost. Great buffer!

"Super simple build, that really works well. Stick it at the front of your pedal chain an it will work wonders. It is also small enough to fit into many guitars - plenty of room to fit in a Strat, Les Paul or P Bass, Should also fit into a Tele or Jazz Bass if using mini pots. There is plenty of room for the tiny board, it's the battery that might not fit. It will also fit into most enclosures if you want to add a buffer to a non-buffered pedal." Mark - 23 May 2012
