Glam Chorus

Sweet PT2399-based chorus action from the now discontinued Madbean project. Why was it retired? No idea, as it's very pleasant on the ears.

We've kept it stock so it'd all fit nicely on a 5x5cm board, but you can easily mod it for a vibe effect option by wiring up a toggle switch offboard.

The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs.

If you want the PCB without parts there's a link for that at the bottom of the page.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Get The Cherub Instead... Probably 3 product stars
"The chorus effect is created by mixing a vibrato signal (created with the PT2399) with the dry signal. One side affect of using the PT2399 is that to prevent the chip from locking up during start up, the circuit must set the minimum delay of the chip to be non-zero. This means the vibrato signal is slightly delayed creating a noticeable flamming with the dry signal. For held chords, this isn't a problem but for fast choppy playing, e.g. a Nile Rodgers/Paul Jackson Jr. disco/funk style, it results in an almost unusable mess. The Cherub Chorus (also offered by Fuzz Dog for the same price) fixes this problem with the anti-lock mod. On start up, the minimum delay is long but it is reduced to zero immediately so the transients of the two signals line up. Not appreciating this difference, I first went with the Glam Chorus thinking I wanted the simplest design but both circuits are equally easy to put together and the same price so I recommend going with the Cherub instead." A Simple two knob Chorus with a Vibe mod at the flick of a switch. 4 product stars
"I included the optional vibe mod to the build which gives a bit more versatility. Both settings offer nice subtle effects which are not over the top. There's a noticeable (4 star) volume dip between the two effects but none the less the overall result is a very pleasing, useable and satisfying pedal." XcLeB - 09 December 2022
Great build, great pedal. 5 product stars
"Love it! Went together great, even for a relatively newbie. I screwed up the foot pedal right at the end, and Fuzzdog was great in getting new parts to me to fix it right away. The pedal itself sounds great on both bass and guitar. I'm buying more (someone stop me, or at least don't tell my wife....)" Jason Schoenbeck - 28 July 2021
Nice one! 5 product stars
"My fifth Fuzz Dog Kit. Assembly is a pleasure, the effect is a nice sophisticated - I would say discrete - Chorus. It delivers lots of "Room", not as wobbly deep and spacey as a Boss CE2, Ibanez CS9 or an Electro Harmonix, but really nice, straight road to some Prog Rock or Police Style... I Like it! Try it! ...There is a nice review on Youtube by Mister JHS about Chorus Pedals, think of Boss Dimension DC2..." Uli Westermann - 26 December 2020
