Chilly Biscuit Distortion

From a mild boost to a big, fat distortion. This is a little box of antipodean boutique magic which proves you can have your cake and eat it.

Huge range of distortion available, and a presence control to give you some mid-range whallop.

Word is the original has been made using two different ICs at different times, so you have the option of which you'd prefer. The differences are subtle, so decide for yourself by trying both!

The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs.

If you want the PCB without parts there's a link for that at the bottom of the page.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and can take a battery if desired with footswitch positioned 22mm higher, closer to the controls. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosures. Please choose appropriate knobs.

A very pleasant surprise 5 product stars
"I've bought this on a whim - I saw Warren Ellis (Dirty Three, Nick Cave) use the pedal that this is based on to boost his home-made Octavia-based black pedal and thought I'd give that setup a go. Didn't expect much of it other that to be a fairly decent booster. Boy, was I wrong. This is by far the best "organic" (gah, there's that dirty word) overdrive I've heard (in my tweed Champ / Deluxe type amp, at least). It can be fuzzish at the end of the gain pot, and it's clean and sparkly in the middle. To me, it sounds much more stylish than the overused Klones and Bluesbreakers of the world, and I can see why it's been a staple of Radiohead's pedalboards for quite a while (in fact I think I can hear it on "Street Spirit"). Can't imagine being without one from now on." Razvan Cojocaru - 18 April 2021
Crowded pedal board 5 product stars
"When I started messing round with DIY pedals somebody donated a similar half complete kit to me. To be blunt it was crap. Having mucked around with the real deal it didn t stack up. Furthermore the pcb was badly laid out and poor quality. Fast forward a month or two and I decided to give it another go with a fuzzdog kit, which I was confident I could rely on. The difference was night and day. Built in record time the finished thing captured the charming oddities of the original perfectly. Just need to gun it through a Vox amp as a final test. Noise complaints ahoy" Dave T - 17 February 2019
