Candyman Overdrive

Arguably the most popular and sought after overdrive out there, just don't say the name out loud!

Very natural, transparent oomph. Works well on bass with the right tweaking of the tone and clipping options.

Controls: Gain, Vol, Treble Cut, Bass Cut.

Optional three-way toggle switch is available if you'd prefer to have the clipping options mounted externally. NOTE: We no longer supply this with a silver mica cap It makes no difference to the tone whatsoever

The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosures and vertical-mount pots. Please choose appropriate knobs.

Absolutely no low end loss !
"Great with guitar but also great for bass, absolutely 0 low end loss and very pleasant sound. Does not color the sound too much, I can even hear the original tone of my bass (but overdriven). The only change I did is change the IC for a Burr Brown OPA2134. As always, a great pleasure to build the Fuzz dog's kits as the pcb quality is nice and easy to work with. The real deal!
"This kit is the perfect example of how a DIY kit should be. Very clear instructions but you have to figure out the resistor and capacitor values yourself. I have learned a lot about electronics from this way of building kits. The quality of the PCB is superb and very easy to read. The pedal itself is amazing. It is the most uncompressed and transparent overdrive pedal I've ever played. The ease of dialling in the bass and treble is amazing and feels more natural. Great Overdrive!
"On its own this is a good overdrive pedal - it can sound like my TS clone without the mid hump at mild to mid gain levels and has some wicked distortion at high gain levels. A Just The Meat feeding into it with both pedals at mild gain levels sounds very nice indeed - smooth distortion with enough grunt to cut through the mix. All of this being used on bass too. First Kit - a Good One
"This was my first full kit FD pedal - made a few up from PCB's before this. Very easy build this one - and it's turned out an excellent sounding pedal. Just need to work out how best to incorporate it into my board now.
