Lonely Vox Club Fuzz

Buzz box based on the onboard fuzz from Vox UL730 and 7120 amps. Why should you care about that? Some pretty iconic tones from Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's maybe...

Pretty simple build that'll give you a nice range of fuzz, from fairly gently to full-on splat at the top end of the gain. Mids filter to tweak those tones, and an internal trimmer to get your perfect balance of fuzz vs gating. What's not to love (love, love)? Whoops, wrong album. Still, you've got to get it into your life.

Supplied with board-mounted pots with round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs).

If you want the PCB without parts there's a link for that at the bottom of the page.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is only available with full kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosures. Please choose appropriate knobs.

Pepperland and beyond... 5 product stars
"I built this to get summer of love tones and stumbled across the fuzz I ve been searching for! It absolutely does the Pepper thing, but it s a really versatile and usable fuzz all round. If you love fuzz on record, but struggle to make Faces, Benders or Muffs work live, this could be the one for you. The midrange control seems to let you place your sound where you want it in the mix, thanks to its supremely sensible frequency range. The character of the break up is distinctly vintage and works well across the sweep of the Sustain pot. Most fun on 10 though, obviously! It prefers to go before buffers on my board, and will clean up on the guitar volume, but its hatred of buffers/love of volume pot doesn t seem as extreme as some basic circuits."
