EPic Boost

NOTE: This is based on the original version of the pedal, not the more recent one which has ditched the fat mode in favour of a reduced output/+3dB switch.

Clone of a very neat little transparent boost, based on the pre-amp section of the EP-3 Echo Machine. The circuit is actually nothing like that pre-amp, but it does sound like it.

The circuit has Bright and Fat modes, selected with two switches. These can be internal DIP switches, or external toggle switches.

If you do go for toggles they are board-mounted for minimal wiring and easy enclosure mounting.

Combine with a Power Pump if you want to run it at 18v from your 9v supply for more headroom.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and can take a battery if desired with footswitch positioned 22mm higher, closer to the controls. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosure and vertical-mount pots. Please choose appropriate knobs.

A must have pedal
"This is my 2nd build, and again quick delivery and quality parts The pedal worked 1st time and will be used as an always on boost, the pedal puts the icing on the tone, it needs to be heard. highly recommended boost pedal can be an always on as I use or dialled up to make passages jump out of the mix I built the 2 switch version, as stated the change is subtle but there, to me one makes the high E & B sparkle a little more and the other a little in the bottom end" Brian Tomkinson - 02 May 2020

One knob wonder
"Great relatively easy build. Well designed and sounds fantastic. This was my first fuzz dog kit and worked straight off the bat. I normally don't run it too high but sounds good beefing up single coil pickups, coaxing a bit more gain out of my Klon clone or coupled with the fuzz dog filth fack for extra thickness. I chose the option to have the switches on the front. Their impact is very subtle tonaly. Very happy with this pedal." Greg - 03 July 2015

Epic boost is epic.
