Smooth, medium-gain overdrive that will respond to your playing dynamics like it was sitting on your lap.

Debate around the innards of this pedal takes up a lot of interweb space, mainly on choice of op-amp and clipping diodes. Some originals used a AD712, some a common NE5532 - you can have either. You can try pretty much any 8-pin op-amp you like until you nail your perfect sound. Clipping is supplied as per original - 2N7000 FETs and BAT41 diodes.

The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosure and vertical-mount pots. Please choose appropriate knobs.

Incredible Tones
"Wasn't sure what to expect from this circuit. I've had other Dumble style pedals but never built one. Was hoping for crisp and meaty SRV type tones from this and boy did this deliver. Really simple circuit to build. The guide could do with updating as the PCB is now different. But otherwise a real straight forward build. And the tones you can get from this are awesome. I'm stacking this with an OCD v1.3 clone into a Fender 68 Custom DR and it sounds great. Takes a bit of dialling in to get the best tones, found it's best with the tone and gain rolled back and the voice and volume pushed up. On its own into a slightly crunchy amp this gets some very tasty SRV type tones. Very happy" Andrew Devine - 02 June 2023

"Best o.d. on earth. Very open. Only thing I can compare it to is a cranked tweed deluxe but at a small fraction of the volume and an even smaller fraction of the price. Comes with an socket so you can experiment with different op amps and you won't fry them with your iron. They're out of production but you owe it to yourself to try an ad712 chip. You need one of these.
"Blimey. As a touch sensitive overdrive this pedal is sublime. The gain is very sensitive to the output of the volume output of the guitar, vintage pickups give gentle OD, high output pups give a bit more, and the way you pick changes the tone/OD - complementing the character of the instrument rather than blanketing it with uniform dirt. Couple it with an other OD to get superb multi channel mayhem. I'm A/Bing this with a 'klon klone', and I'd have to say this is better.
