Very short description as surely everyone knows the Tycobrae Octavia.

Delicious vintage fuzz with an added octave-up.

We're offering the option of a switch to take out the octave so you just have the sick-as fuzz to play with.

9mm board-mounted pots for minimal wiring and easy enclosure mounting. These have round shafts so you'll need knobs with a set-screw fitting.

The transformer means this has to go into a deeper enclosure than we'd normally supply. The 1590B2 has the same footprint as the 1590B but is 7mm deeper.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is only available with full kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosures. Please choose appropriate knobs.

LED question
"Hello, didn't see an option to respond. Having a hole drilled into the enclosure and sticking an led into it is stupid. You can add 50 cents (quid) to the price and provide a proper LED mount. I'm surprised you had to ask." Bonzer McGillicutty - 03 November 2025

We've not come across an LED bezel we like. Seems to work for a lot of other companies - see Boss, EHX, original proco rats to name few. The LED is secure when soldered, so what's the issue? Over 52,000 orders in and this has never come up.

Lots of fun, original circuit
"Fantastic sounding circuit. The only mod I did that I liked was wiring the ground of the LED to the center point of the footswitch which put the LED into the signal path as well as working as an On/Off light. This way the left volume gain knob variably dims the light according to intensity. I drilled a generic guitar pedal LED light fixture in, I don't like the "solution" from the kit which is stupid. All in all, a great and easy pedal project that sounds like Hendrix.

"Tycobrae magic! I have never had a shot of the real deal but now I don't need to. The kit was really easy to put together and the sounds are amazing! I opted for the switch to have the octave in or out. The fuzz alone is outstanding, add in the octave and you have what you would expect from a circuit like this. Even dial the fuzz back and keep the octave on for the wild "ring-mod" like tones, works fun into funky. Cannot wait for the next build.
