Cone Cranker

People just love the Electra circuit, don't they? Here's yet another twist on it by a company pushing that Richter scale to the limits.

This variation will give you some lovely tube-like breakup from mild at one end, to fat and crunchy if you twist the More control right up.

Kit is available with a standard sized 1590B enclosure with battery, or a mini 1590A (36 x 90mm) enclosure with DC power only, though be aware that you'll be wiring in a very confined space.

If you want the PCB without parts there's a link for that at the bottom of the page.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and can take a battery if desired with footswitch positioned 22mm higher, closer to the controls, in a 1590B. 1590A will not take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosure. Please choose appropriate knobs.

Great, simple design. 5 product stars
"This is a perfect circuit for beginners. Really simple. I didn't have to use a multimeter or look up resistor color codes. I just used the picture as a reference. I opted for the smaller 1590A enclosure, and I probably won't do that again. I completed the circuit board within a few minutes, but spent another 30 minutes or so assembling the pedal. After I got it up in running, I tried it out the following day and nothing. I opened it up and the jacks were touching each other and shorting out. A larger enclosure would have saved me some time and hassle. That said, this is a great sounding pedal. Not very transparent as it adds some mojo to my sound even at its lowest setting. The overdrive is very natural without sounding fizzy. Setting the gain at around noon, the guitar is thick and punchy yet sensitive; strumming lightly my tone is still clean, but strumming a little harder I get some nice breakup. Also, sounds good on bass -little to no noticeable loss of low-end." awkbinoc - 29 November 2019
Like your amp, but dirty 5 product stars
"This really is a nice sounding pedal. It really works well to at grit, without changing the tone of your amp. On a really clean amp it might be wise to add a volume to the output, to counteract the volume boost that you otherwise get." Bas Hermus - 14 September 2018
