Warp Sound - Fuzz and Filter

Kevin Shields knows a thing or two about gloriously fuzzy tone, and the shoegaze master uses the Pearl/Vorg Warpsound on 'Sometimes' to great effect.

Not just a dirt box, not just a filter. A wonderful mash of harmonic mayhem that's difficult to describe. If you're looking to add a new element to your sound this is worth checking out. The envelope control gets you from dirty, bassy and muffled through to high-end cocked-wah.

The original unit has an internal trimmer to set the distortion amount, and to be honest we'd stick with that every time. This circuit really shines when the gain is full up. However, we've added the option for an external distortion pot for you tweakers.

This is a buffered bypass effect (lots of booing in the background there....), but you can wire it true bypass if you prefer. No biggy.

Another option is the pot for the Envelope control. The orignal has a 10KB, which has pretty much all the adjustment in the last fifth of the turn. A 5KB is much better, though you do lose the very bottom end of the range.

Partial kit: PCB, all board-mounted components, pots.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is only available with full kits, and will take a battery. Knobs are not included.

Play it Loud 5 product stars
"This pedal's fantastic! It's the second electrical project I've ever undertaken and it was an absolute doddle to build (the first was a Heart throb Tremelo clone and was an absolute bugger to put together - no PCB!). It's best played very loud with maximum reverse reverb and a touch of chorus; you too can sound like My Bloody Valentine! Brilliant! Even better when played through a Big Muff as well! Fuzz Face next." Toby Clarke - 12/11/2017
Grinding wah-wing fuzz 4 product stars
"After two expensive ashtrays (actually the second kit worked in test, the wiring killed it!) I finally got a working fuzzdog kit. This one is also a pretty tight fit and testing can get fiddly as you have to do the buffer and fuzz, and need to do some desoldering and pot moving (I recommend using blu-tack to keep small wires in place), but it's worth it in the end. A really odd pedal, had a grinding fuzz sound and a weird filter that is basically a cocked-wah sound that seems to slightly modulate. I think the original pedal was a flop until Kevin Shields from MBV found a use for it on the tune 'sometimes'." Aussie Battler - 27/10/2017
