Bionic Guzz Fun kit - Board-mounted version

Build your own clone of a pretty spectacularly uncompromising fuzz monster.

A five-knobber with Level, Fuzz, Filter, Bias and Density controls, as well as a toggle switch to kick in oscillation mode. More fun than a bucket of badgers.

The circuit is a bit picky about the input signal, so this works best without a buffer in front of it.

Lots of options on this one, but please check your options are compatible with your enclosure choice.

You'll have to sort out your own enclosure if you go for:

  • Any toggle switch other than the mini pcb-mount SPDT
  • The extra pot for oscillation level control

There's no option for twin footswtiches in a 1590B - it simply won't fit.

Optional extra transistors available so you can experiment with making it a bit less gated - these are now MPSA06 and BC517 (which requires a leg twist, but its worth it) - the results are a lot more pleasing than the standard cans. The optional oscillation control pot has to be wired off-board, and there is no enclosure option for this.

Pots are spaced 21mm apart - take that into consideration when choosing your knobs.

Pots and mini-toggle (if selected) are board-mounted for minimal wiring and easy enclosure mounting.

Kit includes: PCB, all components, hook-up wire, 3PDT footswitch for true bypass, jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, LED. Enclosure (pre-drilled) is optional - 1590B will not take a battery, 1590BB will. Does not include knobs.

Difficulty: Medium

PCB size: 100 x 22mm

Knobs required: 5

Enclosure: 1590B, 1590BB

If you want the kit pre-built you must add the enclosure option below and select your knobs in the Components section. Check Specials for powder-coated enclosure availability.

Superb kit, service - the lot! 5 product stars
"Easy build of a great, weird sounding fuzz pedal; really helpful support from Fuzzdog (I got a couple of resistors in the wrong holes) led to a successful conclusion and a lot of noisy fun. In addition, Fuzzdog's PCBs are sturdy and double-sided, meaning that it's possible to desolder components later if you want to try some mods, unlike some other sellers who supply flimsy one sided boards. My second Pedal Parts build and I'm already planning the fourth :)" Francis Blackman - 15/03/2016
