Cone Ripper - Filthy OD/Fuzz

Noisy, uncompromising, signal-tearing gain.

The Cone Ripper kit comes with parts to make a few different variations, all of which will have you running for cover.

  • Cone Ripper - broken overdrive that sounds like you've got a ripped speaker in your cab.
  • Butt Flush Fuzz - Stupidly high gain fuzz fun - heavy as you like.
  • American Octave - tight, gated fuzz.
  • No Way Drive - Crazy high-gain fuzz with pronounced octave-up.

All of the above sound different enough to warrant having one of each on your board, but you can mess around with the build and get a few different configurations going by adding a toggle switch or a pot. You won't be able to switch into the American Octave or No Way Drive, as these require parts taken out or orientation of transistors flipped, but altering the bias of the first gain stage transistor makes a huge difference to the sound. Check the build document for more details.

Board-mounted pots for minimal offboard wiring. Power and signal pads conform to the FuzzDog Direct Connection format if you want to use the corresponding 3PDT switch daughterboard.

Kit includes: PCB, all components, hook-up wire, 3PDT footswitch for true bypass, jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, LED. Enclosure (pre-drilled) is optional and will take a battery. Does not include knobs.

Definitely ripping! 5 product stars
"This is a sweet OD/Fuzz. I used a pot for R3 to have all the glitch variations possible. All the way back is a solid crunchy OD and all the way clockwise tears your speakers to shreds! One mod I did to mine and I suggest doing, is replacing the input cap with a .82uF. When I used the stock value i found it had no low end. Once i replaced the cap...viola!! Lows for days! Excellent pedal and easy build. Would recommend!" Bill - 09/05/2017
