Bee Juice Overdrive

Incredibly responsive dynamic overdrive with a sound as sweet as honey. Though often described as transparent, it does colour the tone a little - certainly more than a Klon Centaur™ - but in a good way. It doesn't stick a big Tube Screamer™ or OCD™ stamp on your sound, but gives it a little shading with a yellow crayon.

Drive goes all the way from slight boost to medium crunch, and it works well with clean or dirty amps.

The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs.

Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED.

Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and can take a battery if desired with footswitch positioned 22mm higher, closer to the controls. Knobs are not included.

Builds are only available with full kits including enclosures. Please choose appropriate knobs.

The sound I've been looking for....
"I've tried loads of drive pedals over the years, including quite a few fuzz dog ones (which have all been great but not quite what I wanted) and this is the one I'd been looking (listening!) for. The focus knob doesn't seem to do a lot, but what it does is very cool. Pushing it with various boosts and drives always produces a grat sound too... especially my BD-2. I'm very happy with it. As always... the kit is easy to build if you take your time and check each of your resister colour de-codings with a multimeter, and I use a jewelers loup (magnifying glass) to check each of my solder joints and check for stray wisps of solder that may short someting out. Just Like the Real Thing
"I was looking for a SHOD kit so I could experiment with various clipping diodes (I have an original SHOD but didn t want to mess with it). This kit was great to work with! Worst kit ever build
"This kit sucks, colours on recistors is not to read because of second class component, worser than what comes out of china... Even the seller sucks and wont face the reallity and delete bad feedback :-( STAY AWAY" Allan - 01 March 2020

Full bodied amp style drive.
"It's not an amp in a box/tone shaper, but it's definitely the most solid amp style drive I've built and played yet. I've compared it next to my OCD, Plexi Drive, and JHS Bolt clones. Where the three mentioned have more variation in tone shaping and drive range, the Bee Juice has the most solid full bodied feel and touch sensitivity. Forget the Tube Screamer or Klon(?????????????), this is my fave transparent(yuk! naff term) boost/overdrive so far." Simon Wood - 01 April 2018

"First time build for me. After a few errors and some troubleshooting (down to my lack of experience!), it now works a treat! Sounds exactly like I hoped it would with a fantastic low to mid-range crunch. Very responsive and whilst it colours the sound (in a good way), it lets through the sound of different guitars nicely.
