Ampegulator - Ampeg Amp Tone Shaper

Drive pedal to get you that famous low-end growl of a cranked Ampeg.

Designed primarily for bass, but sounds great on guitar if you're after rich, roaring bottom end - fantastic on drop-tuned stuff.

Baxandall tone stack for a huge range of sounds.

After hearing great things about this circuit when ran at 18V we decided to include an optional onboard charge pump to get you that extra juice from your standard supply. Those V's really open this thing up - tons of headroom and extra oomph. You can opt to wire it permanently at 18V, or switch between 9/18V operation with an internal slide switch or external toggle switch. The difference in sound is quite marked, so its well worth having the external option.

Designed for vertical mount pots, or you can wire up normal pots if you prefer. At the moment the kit is only available with wired pots. You also have the option to replace the stock linear Gain pot with a reverse log, which gives much more control.

Not a cheap kit, but the circuit requires eight 2N5457, which are getting harder to source and more expensive by the day.

Kit includes: PCB, all components, hook-up wire, 3PDT footswitch for true bypass, jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, LED. Enclosure (pre-drilled) is optional and will not take a battery. Does not include knobs.

Pre-built option is only available with vertical-mount pots. Don't forget your knobs.

Does exactly what it says on the tin 5 product stars
"Really glad I finally went with this kit! I opted for the switchable 9-18v as I now hear how different both options are. The build itself took 3-4 hours with multiple interruptions from my kids, was pretty logical and very tidy. Its not a difficult build, just needs lots of patience and concentration. I went for the FD daughter board as my switch wiring is horrible! This thing at full tilt has grind a plenty (not Wormrot type grind) and all of the controls are completely interactive. Treble and bass controls add more "grit" as they are increased and the gain kicks in proper just before the knob is max'd, but I used the supplied audio taper pot. Lots and lots of different tonal possibilities with this thing and I've only just scratched the surface!" Mark - 29/12/2015
